The words of James continue to echo in my mind today:
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." -James 1:27
Two callings:
1. Care for orphans and widows (the fatherless and women in need)
2. Personal purity
Caring for orphans, widows, and others in need is a calling deeply rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Personal purity is a moment-by-moment pursuit to live a life of faith pleasing to God.
May God give us the strength to do both--care for those in need and to live with integrity in His sight.
